When is a good time to start setting up for a haunted house?

Me and my boyfriend are starting to set up his front yard for a haunted house. Its September 26th. Some other people where I live have some pumpkins and stuff out already. Should we start later? Or is this a good time?

Don't you think it's a little too early? Maybe beginning of October would be better, not literally October 1st, but Oct 10 would be good to start..

You can start getting things ready to set up by planning what you will have and where it will go. If you need to make things for your haunted house, start making things now. Keep your supplies organized so at the beginning of October, when you do set up, it will be quick and easy. Just remember, if you plan on having Jack-o-lanterns as part of your decorations, you will want to wait until closer to Halloween to carve them as they will start to rot if you cut them so soon. And when you do cut them, I would suggest soaking them in a tub of water overnight after they're cut, and coating the cut edges with a thin coating of oil to slow down the speed at which they'll rot.

    Good luck!

I say go for it if you're at that point. I've had my haunt in the garage for over a month now, it's not too early. It's more work than it seems!
