Frets are the divisions on the guitar neck. Chords are made by placing fingers on the strings within these frets. You'll get it. It takes time.

Guitar chords are combinations of notes played all at once that sound good together. Frets are the aluminum divisions on the neck of the guitar that separate notes on the fretboard. Learning guitar for 6 months now too...

Frets and chords are 2 completely different things. Frets, for one thing, are part of a guitar. Those raised pieces of metal on the neck (the long piece of wood leading from the main body of the guitar up to the tuners that the strings run down) are called 'fret wire' and the frets are the spaces between the fret wires. From the top of the neck, which is called the 'nut', the fret goes across the neck at different intervals, with the space between fret wires getting thinner and thinner as you get closer to the body. This amount of space is what makes the different pitches that the strings make, because when you push down a string between frets, the string length is shortened, therefore causing different pitches. Each fret is marked with little dots or some sort of marking at different intervals, usually by counting by odds (the first fret is not commonly marked with a dot or inlay though). Chords, on the other hand, are a pattern of fretted notes (where strings are pushed down between certain fret wires) on multiple strings that are combined to form a nice-sounding triad, or 3 different pitches, or notes. In short, frets are the divisions of a neck, all of which make different pitches, or notes, when they pushed down, otherwise known as 'fretted', and chords are a mixture of 'fretted' strings.

Frets for guitars are like keys on a piano, you press down on them to get a different note, they are located on the neck of the guitar, the lowest fret is the one further away from the body of the guitar. you can play tunes by playing on fret at a time.

A guitar chord is where you press down on 2 frets or more at a time and strum more than one string at a time

    hope i helped
