What is the independent and dependent quantity for these examples?

    1. A car is traveling at a rate of sixty miles per hour for several hours.

    2. The area of a square floor is the product of the length of two of its sides.

    3. The perimeter of a square is the sum of the length of all four of its sides.

    4. The length of a video file in minutes relates to the size of the file in bytes.

    5. The total weight of a bag of apples in pounds relates to the number of apples in the bag.

    Thanks!

    1. independent: time dependent: speed (although constant)

    2. independent: length of the sides dependent: area

    3. independent: length of a side dependent: perimeter

    4. independent: size of the file dependent: length of the video (arguably you could answer this one either way)

    5. independent: number of apples dependent: total weight of the apples
