30 percent electric rate hike in one year-that is crazy-the government should limit that to 5 percent a year. What are the poor goiing to do?

this isn't obama's fault, this is the fault of the state legislature who allowed rate restrictions to expire, and rendell who didn't advocate extending them.
why did they do it? because they want more money. because they wanted to buy a soccer team (which they did using our money). because they are greedy and no one could stop them.
and people in pennsylvania did care. a lot. every day, there is a new letter to the editor in my local paper about ppl rate hikes. but pp&l doesn't care. they know they have a monoploy. even if you try to switch to a competitor, they know that the bulk of your bill will still go to them because they "own" the distribution lines and charge a fee for their usage.

write your congressmen. not that it will do any good, but that's about the only option available to us. in my household, we cut back usage by roughly 20% and our bill was still 30 dollars above last month.

    greed will destroy this country.
