Thread: When is Obama going to start work on preventing the Social Security train wreck ahead?

Instead of dreaming up new obligations for the government why doesnt he figure out how to deal with the obligations the government has already made?

Has anyone even heard him talk about a plan for Social Security?

You do know all of the money you have had taken out of your checks your whole working life has been spent right? The SS trust fund is nothing but IOU's

most people still believe that there is enough money or will be enough money so that they can collect their benefits. as long as this is true there will be nothing done about social security. i personally believe that the feds have no intention of paying and that is why they are doing nothing about the situation.

Older "unproductive eaters" are not a priority of this administration. They don't pay taxes, they use tax money (even though they worked their a$$es off all their lives). Obama will not only neglect Social Security, if his national health care plans are implemented, older Americans will be at the bottom of the barrel too. They can expect less care and of poor quality once government decides which treatments and procedures they will be allowed to have. The Great Generation will be the Late (Dead) Generation a lot sooner than they expected and the 'boom' will be lowered on the 'Boomers'

Obama has already stated that he is going to convene a summit on Social Security whose purpose would be to make recommendations on reforming the system. I guess you missed that too.

Never. He is just making things worse.
