    What is the waiting period for a person to become a citizen in the US?

    After some files the I-130, how long till the process of become a US citizen is completed. And what are the order the forms should be filed. So, that the file doesn't get stuck somewhere and your are not advice of the next procedure. If anyone knows please let me know.

    To become an actual US citizen it takes at least 10 years to be naturalized. I think you just want to know how long it take to get a visa... and that probably takes a few months depending on your current nationality.

    First you need a visa. If the visa is via a spouse, then after 3 yrs with green card you can apply to take the citizenship test. If green card is obtain any other way I believe the wait time is 10 yrs (but not 100% sure)

    Okay...As far as im concerned,you need to be a legal permanent resident for 5 years before you can apply to become a citizen.Now,if you married a U.S citizen and he filed a permenant residency application for you,then you only have to wait 3 years before yo u can apply.You need to be approved for you permanent residency first.How long it takes depends on your situation,who filed for you,etc.
