Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia, Iceland, and Switzerland have parliamentary forms of government. That is, when someone votes for a political candidate they are more so voting for a party. The party with the greatest number of votes in any election gets to create the government. This type of government allows for a lot more plurality (political parties) and getting legislation passed requires considerable compromise.
The United States uses a Presidential Two Party system. That is, when someone votes for a political candidate they are only voting for that person not necessarily the entire party platform. This type of government allows for less plurality but is also marked by considerable compromise and incrementalism.
Most ideal to live (I'm American so I'm biased)
