Thread: What are the requirements for top secret military clearance?

Also do they do a personal interview with a polygraph test? My concern was a wild first year of college if you know what I mean.

Us Citizen, not in to much trouble as a civilian, a decent credit report, Second generation American Citizen. Trusted. and a ETNAC background check, they ask your friends that you had given there names to the recruiters and go and talk to teachers, coaches and anyone they want too.

Yes, they'll also interview you. Just answer their questions truthfully. If you lie, they'll find out anyway. They're not looking for perfect people, just people they can trust.

just tell the truth! Don't lie! Yes they do a personal interview and a polygraph test. They will interview all of your contacts you list on the form. I wouldn't really worry as long as you are honest. My husband has a TS clearance and I was interviewed. Pretty interesting experience..lol

You are fine. I just got my TS for a job and it went well. Really, they just want to know that you are a truthful person. You don't have to be perfect. I told them about my drug use from years ago and drinking underage - still no prob. Like everyone else has said, being 100% truthful is best when applying for the TS. If they find out you are lying, they'll can you and the TS (they're feeling is if you lie about this, what else are you lying about). Also, just because you are getting a TS doesn't mean that there's a poly involved. If there is, its either going to be a lifestyle or CI poly. Good luck!
