Get involved with your local political party, make connections, then announce your candidacy and meet your potential consitutents face to face.

Also, to write opinions in her local newspaper?

Go volunteer at a political office of which ever party you work for. You will be in-the-know for political positions that your party may not have a candidate to run.
Also learn as much as you can about political issues in your local area and state. Read all the records of public meetings and state congress. become an expert.

Why does it have to matter that your a female and black?

Already playing the race card and you're not even in politics yet.

    How about,

What is the best way for me to get into politics?

    There, thats better.

Try the local government. School board, city council etc. Start there, stick to your guns and continue onward and upward.

Stop looking at yourself as a black, female. Look at yourself as a politician. Get involved in local government, you can look at Sarah Palin as a example of getting involved in the community.
I understand that as a black female you can not just say I am not black. If you used that as an opening line it would turn people off. Something like I am a young concerned citizen that recently been interested in politics what should I do to get into politics.
In Politics it is all about selling your ideals. A really good book that I suggest reading is " How To Win Friends and Influence People" This is an old book but is on many great business leaders bookshelves.
Take some leadership courses. A good place that has help many people is Toastmasters, they offer many good programs that very inexpensive.

Get involved in local politics. If you are in the Midwest you should probably go to the republican party headquarters. Go to strength first it will do you little good if you go to a losing party in your region.
