Thread: Is walking around in a gorilla suit in a grocery store illegal?

I was wondering if you wear costumes like that in public places anytime.

I am unaware of laws banning gorilla suits. But a grocery store is private property. It would not be illegal to throw your sorry ass out of the grocery store.

Not necessarily but if it causes a scene they can ask you to leave the premises. If you refuse, they can call the police.

Just to be safe bring some anti-security guard undergarments, and then you're good to go!

Not that I know of. However, the constitution gives powers to the states. And I suppose that a prohibition of being a gorilla in a grocery store is among those powers. So maybe you are in crazy state.

Actually in some places it is illegal to where a mask in certain places ( of course there are usually exceptions for holidays, parties, etc). Mostly they are old anti-Klan laws and may have been struck down or overturned, but since they do have the rational purpose of keeping people in disguise from robbing stores some may still be on the books. You need to check the laws where you live, but the odds are unless you are doing something else wrong the police or whomever would just tell you about the law and to take the mask off.
