How safe are we from Chinese intercontinental ballistic missiles?

During the cold war there were several 'mistakes' that could have set off a nuclear exchange between the Soviets and the USA.

Today China has many IBM's pointed at us, and if the quality of some of their manufactured exports is any indication of quality control, it scares me to think of the failsafe systems for their deadly weaponry! Need I be concerned?

Perhaps they are nowhere as developed as I fear they are. I would appreciate any enlightening. Thanks.
Do they have automatic systems like the Soviets did ? How concerned should I be about a 'mistake' ?

If China bombed us, we'd nuke them. They don't want that. The rest of the world is so afraid of America, another actual nation would never attack us. They have too much to lose.
(911 was NOT done by another nation. It was done by our nation or by a terrorist group, take your pick, but not another country. It wouldn't happen.)

From what i understand, we have the ability to intercept around 700 missiles on the West coast from land, space, and sea SDI defenses.

In 1998 it was estimated that China had around 342 nuclear tipped missiles capable of reaching the US mainland.
They have 700 in range of Taiwan as of 2005 (If their claims are to be believed) I don't know how many Nuclear missiles China has that can reach the US mainland right now.

We should consider expanding our SDI capabilities- and arm our satellites with anti missile lasers to ensure China doesn't knock out space based SDI defenses down before a strike on America.

I think they may, i know their spies stole out Agies missile defense plans back during Clinton and had a working copy in 2003. In all probability they do have a automatic SDI defense ring- although probably not even near out capabilities.

One of the biggest stories of Bill Clinton's presidency (which the media virtually ignored of course) was his signing-off on the sale of advanced US-made rocket guidance systems to communist China after they had repeated rocket failures. He said he did it because if we didn't sell them to them someone else would. And he was not impeached on THAT act of treason.

    Doesn't matter.........

Any nation that starts a nuclear war knows it's " game over" for everyone.

If you counted up all the nukes owned by nuclear nations, you would discover there are enough nukes to crack the planet....

No One wants that no matter what their differences are.

You know. I think the people of China just might be the answer our world needs right now.

China is one of the oldest, long lasting civilizations on our planet today! Does this tell you anything? Duh! Doh!

dont worry we have so many radars and anti missile systems there are 3 systems 1st is ships in the area shoot it out then another from the US long range missle then if its close patriot missiles(sam site) but they can barely get rockets up so were VERY safe from them

The Chinese don't have ICBMs. The best they have is the CSS-5 or "Dragon 2000" which is an intermediate range missile with a range of 2,000 nautical miles. They began deploying those missiles during the previous U.S. administration and received assistance from Loral, an American firm, in improvement of their guidance systems.
As far as the old Soviet ICBMS, the Russian Federation decided to use them to launch satellites into orbit from Russian Federation soil, rather than using the civilian models and having to pay to use the old Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Those Soviet SS-20s all splashed down in the Sea of Japan! So, it appears the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces were not as developed as we thought they were.
