How much time is given to eat in the military?

    8 minutes and 34 seconds...lol

It all depends on the circumstances

I once spent 3 days eating the same MRE

In boot camp you shovel it down as fast as can the get back in formation outside and wait for everyone else to finish shoveling it down. It usually took between 10-15 minutes. On regular duty we had normal meals. Usually they lasted an hour but we were done in 20 minutes and just relaxed the rest of the time.

boot camp, you're lucky if you get 10 minutes.

on the job, I guess a half hour to an hour.

Meals are from the time the first person enters the food line till the last person enter the food line. You eat as fast as you can and as much as your stomach will hold in a few minutes. Choose all the carbohydrates and proteins that they offer you.

As long as it takes to shovel your food down lol. but seriousley in Basic it was about 10 minutes. In AIT it was around 30mins now i work in a hospital and its working lunches. but when i was in the infantry battallion it was anywhere from 30 mins on a busy day to an hour and a half on a relaxed day.

as much as you can shovel into your mouth, depending if your the last in line, five minutes to shovel it in. If your the first in line 13. You learn to eat as if you are starving.

Once at Fort Benning Georgia, at airborne school, we feed 150 guys, from first guy in the door to last guy OUT the door in less than 15 minutes.....If you can't eat it with a spoon don't bother....

But once you get to a real unit assignment, you are treated like a human being, and get 30 minutes to an hour.
Breakfast time is up to you, the earlier you get up and eat, the more time you have, but you will be at first formation ON TIME. Lunch is on the clock so you get 30 - 60 minutes usually, unless some event comes up.
Usually dinner is one your time so you can take as long as you want.

Previous poster is correct though....there is a lot more important stuff to worry about than that...

In basic training ( I went to Fort Benning) we got exactly 2 mintues to eat after the last guy got his food and sat down. You have to wait in line to get food so it takes a few minutes for everyone to go through. So if your the last guy you had 2 minutes to shove as much food down your throat as possible but if you were more towards the front of the line you got a bit more.

Once you graduate basic you wont have to worry about eating fast anymore. You get an hour and a half for lunch.

I'm like the worlds slowest eater and I made it through basic just fine. You'll learn to eat fast. I wouldnt stress about.
