Claiming there is any similarity between a technique used to smooth the passage of amendments to Senate bills (due to them containing minor differences in language) and passing a wildly unpopular, completely new, trillion dollar entitlement without voting for it is simply laughable.

On a single piece of legislation that will bankrupt our country, take over 1/6th of the economy and drive the quality of medical care into third world quality? Um, no. I can't. Can you? Hey, if you're going to destroy the country, I think it should at least be a little bipartisan, don't you?

@sez who: Sorry, my ignorant and uninformed friend. The war in Iraq was a heavily bipartisan vote comprised of a near majority of democrats. And, every single one of those senators and congressmen had every scrap of information that the president had. If they were 'lied to', it is their own fault. But they weren't, the evidence of which lies in the fact that every leading democrat from Bill Clinton on down expressed the same views on Saddam and WMDs. Sorry, dude, but your channel of ignorance failed long ago. Get something new.

    The Slaughter rule.

How come Demorats were against reconciliation when Republicans threatened to use it but now that they want to use it it's OK?! Isn't this the height of hypocrisy?!

Yes, the procedural tactic being used by Democrats is one the GPO has never tried; A commonsense approach to not only providing 30 million Americans with healthcare, but also cutting the deficit and lowing taxes for most taxpayers.

Why don't the dems just say it passed regardless whether there ever was a vote in favor or not. They are just one hairs width away from doing that now, why bother to split hairs. Everyone knows what they are doing is criminal including them. They've overstuffed this bill with so much pork and gimme's that it's reached a saturation point and they can't go back now, because it's just too tempting for their greedy little desires. They make me sick every time I hear about their bill. Obama has pushed it too far. Each time he sends it back to the House to be voted on they want more in return for their YES votes. Now he can't meet the price any longer and he's going to lose because of his greedy people isn't that ironic.
