Thread: After voting November 4th, how long does it take to know who won the presidential election?

Unless it's close we'll know around 10pm eastern. If Virginia, FL or OH goes Obama we know he won.

Depends who wants to dispute what. You know they will.

With the ACORN issues, it could be a long time.

Usually they announce it the same night, but with the interferences of ACORN, it might take longer.

Most of the time it is that night but if there is a problem in the voting or a question in a major area it might take until morning to get the official results

You have to wait for some hours to know for sure but after an hour or two after the polls have closed you should be able to see who probably will win.

unless there are any "questionable" voting areas, we should know that night after all the polls have closed (remember, the polls close at a certain time in each state, so it will be when the last polls closes in the latest time zone). A predicted winner, however, will be known earlier.
