I've been trying to find the answer to this question for half an hour. We need 3 similarities and 3 differences. I've been searching the web and can't find any good information.

Well, for part of the 1940s WW2 was going on, and that made life very different for most people. There was rationing, a lot of the men were away at war, and many women had taken over jobs that were traditonally done by men, in heavy industry, farming, forestry, on the buses and railways etc.

One big difference was in entertainment. The radio and the movies were hugely popular, but television was only in its infancy and hadn't really become important yet. Lots of people went to the movies at least once a week.

Another difference was in education. It was still quite common for young people to leave work at an early age (fourteen was quite common) and go to work, rather than going to high school. Fewer people went on to college.
