What ideas did the English in Virginia and Massachusetts hold about the way that the Native Americans interacted with the land of North America? How does their treatment of Indians reflect their attitude?

Well, it was no different than anywhere else. They called us savage, killed the men, raped the children, and destroyed the land. They treated them terribly.

They viewed the Native Americans like children who needed to be taught religion and values. They were trying to help.
