Thread: What happened to the many peasants who left the manor to work in towns during the medieval times?

This is a question for my Social Studies homework and i'm really stuck.

Generally they would be dragged back and punished. It was only after the Black Death that there was any form of "people power", and that situation did not last long. Peasants were "tied" to a location, and leaving without permission was unthinkable.
