    Curses as greetings

    Hi there,
You know how some people in recent times greet each other with insults and curses like "How are ya you son of a #####". I am trying to find out if this has any parallels in ancient history. I contacted a history expert in all-experts, he couldn't give me an ancient example of Insults/ curses as greetings but he suggested that I check out Macedonian history for such examples. Do you know of any regardless if they are Macdeonian or non-Macdeonian?

This sounds more like when guys call each other names in jest. I am sure this has gone on for thousands of years in most cultures in some form or another, especially in armies.

When I read the title of the thread I assumed you ment some kind of voodoo curse or something.
