    Will it hurt if I drink a protein shake before working out?

    Im about to drink a protein shake and I was wondering if that was a dumb idea since im not gonna workout til tonight? Like im not planning to workout for a good 3-4 hours.

    i think its better to have it after because protein dont give energy

    its not bad, but it would be better for you to drink it in small amounts over the course of a couple of hours. this will give you a steady supply of protein throughout the day. drink half before and half of it afterwards for best results.

    It is much better to take protein after you work out. Proteins main purpose is to help your muscles recover faster and better from workouts. Here is an excerpt from www.designerwhey.com:
