    Why is it important to tell your doctor that you stopped taking antidepressants ?

    I stopped taking antidepressants (celexa 20mg for panic attacks) Of course i have a few side effect feeling dizzy and chronic headaches but i started to exercise and heating healthy (drinking 3 Liter of water) I've gained 20 pounds since starting this medication. 5'7 at 130 pounds.So why should i tell my doctor about it ?

    You should tell your doctor because you may have another depressive episode when the medication is out of your system which usually takes a few weeks. THere are lots of other antidepressants out there if you need them.

    in some people stopping the antidepressants suddenly causes seizure. doctors lower the antidepressants gradually until they stop it completely.
