I need the answer because it is research for a book I am writing.
What is the lowest heart rate you can have and STILL be alive?
The lowest heart pulse you can have is zero.
If you're writing a book shouldn't you seek out a more reliable source than yahoo answers? Each person's pulse differs depending on many factors. For example, a baby's heart rate would probably be more than double an olympic track star's. One of the lowest heart rates ever recorded is 28 beats per minute, but an average person's is somewhere around 70 bpm. Again, there is no set heart rate for someone who is in a coma or someone who has fainted. It's totally dependent on their body and the specific circumstances.
