Yesterday I had a fever and my throat still hurts from it. The medicine isn't working and I was wondering what a good old time remedy would be to solve it?
You could try gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash.
Warm tea with lemon, ginger and some honey if you need it to be sweet works too.
Tea tree oil, then have a cup of warm tea with honey.Don't swallow the tea tree spit it out.
chewable vitamin c is great, cayenne pepper either liquid or powder in some hot water with honey, apple cider vinegar, chew raw garlic, lemon juice, ginger, but chewing vitain c tablets really helps ALOT more than swallowing them, do you have a throat infection?
Betadine Throat Wash Rinse helps. You can make a tea with all the old time faves - lemon ginger camomile are pleasant and I think definitely speed up the recovery. Or garlic crushed under the side of a heavy knife and then chopped and taken in a spoonful of honey. Creamed honey with ginger bits (you can get this in Australia quite readily). The women at my local health food store SWEAR by liquid garlic extract for sore throats.
Swish some salt & warm water with a little peroxide in your mouth, you never want to gargle, this irritates the sore throat. Using zinc lozenges are good for you, sipping some honey and lemon tea or some chamomile tea with honey. Also get some acidophilus 5-billion - milk free with FOS and use this on a regular basis.
