Also are there any benefits to using a weight vest while riding a bike?
burns calories
lost 29 lbs in 90 days walking on a treadmill with the Weight Vest?. My triglyceride levels went down from 485 to 66 and my blood sugar went down from 147 to 105. I wasn't even trying to lose the weight. My cardiologist gave me a couple of prescriptions of which I took none, he was amazed at my results. Thanks."
-David Sokol, Chairman, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company "I just had this published (article on V-Max?) as one of my twice a month columns for all the different military times newspapers. We have both the women's V-Max vest and the [Plate Vest]. Have had them for over 2 years and use them all the time. I even have my plus 60 year olds in them. I only get 400 words per column so I have to keep things short...
Again we love your vests....These are the "Cadillac" of weight vests, we have had ours for three years and they are just simply the best out there."
-Bob T. Director Navy Wellness Center Pensacola, FL "Thanks Jeff! I appreciate your help & look forward to getting that vest..thanks for the quick turn around.. you & your company definitely get 2 thumbs up from me.. I'll tell everyone who asks you guys are awesome. Before I called you I checked and the BBB gave you an A grade.. and so far I can see why...Thanks again."
- Brian"Looking forward to getting the vest, everyone I've talked to says they're top of the line."
-Michael V., Rochester, MN "Here's a clip of me on "youtube" wearing the V-Max 50 lb. weighted vest. The construction of this product is unmatched and will last for decades. I bought this vest to assist in my own physical therapy program to rehab my chest and shoulder after having surgery for a complete rupture of my left pectoralis.
I bought the 50 lb. vest, and in the beginning I simply removed some of the the single, weighted bars that fit snug into their own pockets when doing push ups and squats to lighten the load during my initial come back. Before I knew it, I was performing push ups and squats with the entire weight of 50 lbs.
Thank you for manufacturing and delivering a product that will exceed the expectations of even the greatest critic. In this day and age I'm not used to getting my money's worth. V-Max weighted vests are the exception to the mediocrity surrounding today's fitness industry."

- John D. Favata"It's a damn good durable product---this is my 2nd, the first was stolen."
-John D. Pembroke Pines, FL "Got my V-Max 40 lb ?Plate Vest? delivered this past Monday and all I can say is, ?Wow!? Not only did it arrive exactly as promised, it only took one look in the box and I could tell it was the ?Real Deal?. Once I took it out of the protective shipping bag (nice touch btw), the superior quality was readily apparent. No bones about it, V-Max vests are heavy duty and well built. The workmanship of this vest is on par with many military-grade and police equipment vests I have used in the past. I?ve seen many brands of weight training vests but none of them even come close to the quality of your product!
I thoroughly shopped around for a weight vest after reading many articles about the benefits of their usage. I considered two other weight vest vendors but chose your product after reading the countless V-Max testimonies and endorsements. I couldn?t be happier with my final decision!
I must admit I was a little skeptical of your ?Plate Vest? claims at first. In particular, I was worried about the weight plates shifting and clanging in the V-Max?s webbed pockets. This was not a problem at all. This vest works fine whether you use 1 or 2 plates in each pocket. All the straps and military-grade fasteners are well designed and fully functional. I used the vest during my ?High Intensity Interval Training? this week and found it to be comfortable throughout the motions of all my exercises. Also, it was very easy adding and removing the weight plates as needed. Finally, my training felt much more intense with the added weight, I could really feel the burn!
For those of you who are training for Law Enforcement, the Fire Department or Military, I highly recommend this product. Using a V-Max vest during training can help prepare you for the demands of working with heavy equipment on a regular basis. In addition, it?s a lot safer and less awkward than wearing your actual equipment during your training routine. I wish I had done this many years ago!
Thanks for offering such a great product. I look forward to using my V-Max vest as much as possible in my quest for improved strength, endurance and health!
Sincerely,
D. Stevenson, Los Angeles, CA
"Thanks for everything. This is my third purchase in 3 months. Excellent product & unbelievable customer service. Happy Holidays!"
-Robert F. APO, AP "Nearly twenty years ago I read an article from a book about "Weighted-Walking". The main point from the article was that weight walking did more for cardiovascular fitness than all other forms of exercise. The Israeli government set about to discover what form of exercise was best at developing cardiovascular fitness. Military and civilian workers as well as Olympic athletes were tested. As a group, the most cardiovascular fit individual was the mailman - the mailman, walking three to five miles per day, carrying 20-35 pounds. Tests soon demonstrated that walking with a weighted load was far and away the most effective exercise to develop and maintain cardiovascular fitness. I just finished a ten-week competitive weight-loss program in our community. I walked for one hour every day with the V-Max weight vest from WeightVest.com. My vest weighed 70 lbs. I did alter my diet somewhat too, drinking less soda pop and eating less food overall.
I lost 48 lbs. (from 237 lbs. down to 189 lbs.) My waist size dropped from size 40 to 34. I have more energy, require less sleep, and have more endurance now than in the last 25 years. I am an avid swimmer and used to swim one to one and a half miles per day. When I ballooned up to 237 lbs, I couldn't swim a quarter mile without having to stop from exhaustion. Now, I can swim over two miles and have to stop now because my shoulders ache, not because I'm physically tired. I recommend without hesitation the V-Max weight vest from WeightVest.com.?

"I love the vest and have had several comments on it from people at the gym; I tell them that I bought it at weightvest.com. The purpose of the purchase was to switch up my routine because I felt that I was in a plateau with my workouts. Something new and exciting to spice it up and it seems to be working. It may or may not be related but I have dropped 4 to 5 pounds of fat in the past 2 1/2 months and my overall strength has actually increased. I would probably credit that to increased core strength which the short narrow vest works every second you have it on.
My main uses are when I superset my leg lifts with jumping rope or some plyos - box jumps land and explode, line jumping, agility exercises.
I have also integrated it into my abs workouts and done pull-ups with it on although I'm only at 30 lbs right now which is probably enough for awhile, but I love that I have room to grow with 20 more pounds.
Shoveling with the vest on was also fun - a workout, but fun. "Just want to let you guys know I love your site and I plan on buying some weight vests in the Future. I'm training to join the Navy SEALs and I believe your products will help me gain the extra edge I'll need to accomplish my Dreams. Thank you guys for helping people better their health."
-Danny A. "Hello!
I just got my weight vest today. Man, I was really impressed with the impeccable quality of the vest and the vest liner. I slipped on the vest with 75 lbs of weight and it really fits comfortably. I ordered the 150 lb weight and I know it will be a long time if ever before I ever get to that weight but I am going WOW it's like I got 2 weight vests for the price of one. I am very happy I bought the weight vest. Thanks for making a high quality product."
-Dennis M. Greenwood, IN "I'm sure you get more emails than you can handle so I'll be brief. I am a member of 19th Special Forces Group, 5th Battalion, Bravo Company, Team 9525. I ordered one of your weight vests last week, and received it within 2 days. This is the third weight vest I've purchased in the last 7 weeks (but the first one from you guys). The first two were made by "XYZ (brand name witheld)" and purchased at Dick's Sporting goods for approximately $130. After two weeks and five runs (to include The Denver Race for the Cure) the XYZ (brand name witheld) vest fell apart, the neoprene waist strap tore completely off on the left side, and nearly all the way off on the right. I took it back to Dick's, and they exchanged it.
The next XYZ (brand name witheld) vest lasted a whole three weeks (Insanity = repeating the same actions and expecting different results). Needless to say I was less than pleased. I talked to a few buddies to find out where to look.
One of the guys I talked to had received a vest you sent to his team in Iraq. He sent me to you.
I don't have to tell you, but it's obvious that your vest is pretty much bomb proof; it is quickly becoming the best purchase I've made this year. My good friend and roommate (a sponsored adventure racer) is so impressed he's ordering one as well. I just wanted to take a few minutes to say "thank you" and "Job well done". If you guys decide to make anything else such as medicine balls, or any other training equipment, I'd l
Using a weight vest while running is good because it helps you to be stronger.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfvMLtZMfCo&feature=channel_page
It adds weight to put an extra work-out on your muscles, making the run much more effective.
a weight vest while riding probably wouldn't help, but they have similar things for your legs. THAT would help, but your chest doesn't really do work while riding a bike
itll burn more calories while riding a bike and running and you will gain strength in your legs by carrying the extra weight
increases the work load a bit. Useful only if you intend to wear body armour at work (gets you used to handle extra weight)
less effect on the bike- a crate of beer on the baggage rack would have more effect
Much better effect would be weights on the wrists and ankles- but don't overdo the weight or you'll cause an injury
I would think it would prevent you from breathing properly! However, running on grass is a good way to make your run more efficient!
