Thread: How much longer after you start your first period, do you start using tampons?

I just started my first period. I'm not sure if it's really my period, because A while ago, there was blood, so I used pads, but then i never came back until now, and its been about six months, so I know that wasn't my period, so I'm not sure if this is. I use pads now, and I'm wondering how long I have to wait before I start using tampons? How do I know when to start using tampons?

Tampons are a personal choice. You can use them on your very first period even if you want (i did). Just make sure you use them correctly (change them often) and don't forget to take out your last one. Like I said it is a personal choice, I never use pads (never really have) even when I was younger. Just read the box and talk to a doctor with any questions/concerns you may further have.

Well its really your choice. Some people like to use them during sports or they just feel more comfortable using tampons all the time. Its really your call.
