It really depends on who you see, and whether they are a specialist or not. Typically, two surface fillings cost about $150 each. If the dentist is filling the same tooth, the filing would be free in most cases. If not filing can be in the $25 to $50 per tooth.

i have been a dental asst. for 15 years. So i dont know what you mean by having a tooth filed. Now i do know that each tooth, if the decay isnt into the nerve, may just need a simple filling. Fillings range in price from about 125.00 to 375.00. That depends on how many surfaces a tooth is decayed. It can range from 1 surface to 4 surfaces. If it is more than 4 surfaces you will need a buildup and crown which costs in the range of 1000.00 each. dentistry is very expensive. So I would advise you to schedule an appt. w/ a general DDS. your first appt. will only be for an exam and xrays. At which time they will give you a tx. plan that consists of all the work you need to have done and the fee for each procedure. That way you can work on one or 2 teeth at a time. As far as filing the teeth the only thing i can think you may mean is after decay is removed from a tooth the filling is placed and then the excess filling material is filed down to make it look like your natural tooth. This is all included in the total fee of the filling, there are no additional charges. Try to get it done soon though becaues the longer you wait the deeper the decay gets and once it gets into the nerve then your talking about 800.00 for a root canal, and 1000.00 for the crown. Thats just to save one tooth. hope i helped some. good luck

I agree with what Jennifer said,I have been in the dental field for 14 years also, and just wanted to add that if you don't have dental insurance you could sign up for a fee for service discount plan that could save you money.

I could check to see if providers near you participate before you sign up. Email me if you are interested, i'll check for you. The plans start at just $14.95 per month and you get great discounts.

I would encourage you to visit this site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago now and they have saved me thousands since. From fillings ($38) exams ($30), xrays..etc. all services are included in this very affordable plan. Even cosmetic surgery and orthodontics. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. Hope this helps.
