How do I find my nearest Ambulance service to say thank you?

Recently I required an Ambulance and they saved my life.

I would like to know where they are located so I may say thank you to them.

How do I locate where they are stationed, is there a website I can type my postcode into etc?

Any other knowledge regarding the topic will be valuble also.

    Thanks!

they will be attached to your local hospital...so that would be your first contact point i would think.

or you could ask NHS Direct...you might find something to help on their website:

Some ambulances are run by the Fire Departmen, some by the hospital and others still are run by a private company. Perhaps you could call the non-emergency fire department number and they could guide you in the right direction.

If you're in the UK, find out which trust covers the area you're in:
    http://www.nhs.uk/servicedirectories/Pages/AmbulanceTrustListing.aspx

Then, go to the respective website and there should be a number/email that you can contact (it might be under complaints, but it's usually the same department, or "PALS".

As ambulances in the UK are so busy it's not always the case that one came from the local station. And in the UK, A+E ambulances are nothing to do with the hospitals/GPs - they are different trusts.

If you contact them, giving the date, approximate time and location and your name they will be able to track the crew(s) that came to you. They may not give you their names (confidentiality/incase you're a crazy?) but they will tell you how a card/message can be passed to the crew.

Good luck, I know that it's very nice to hear a thankyou, it doesn't happen often!
