Where is the best place to buy tickets for Universal Studios Orlando?

We are going to Orlando in August and while we are staying at Disney World, we are planning to spend one day (maybe two) at Harry Potter World. We don't want to see anything else at Universal. Where is the best place to get tickets? We have a AAA membership and can get them through there, but just wanted to double check.

Last time I checked, AAA's discount was *tiny.* You may do just as well to purchase online from Universal's website. But those are the places I would recommend - don't fall for scams.

I'm off to Orlando on Thursday, and we have been many times before. We tend to buy our tickets direct from our travel agent (we use Thompsons/First Choice). However, if you did not want to do this, it may be worth buying them through Universal itself, as this will avoid you being scammed
    Hope this helps!

Unfortunately there aren't any great secrets to cheap theme park tickets for Orlando. Your best bet is Universal's official website - save ten bucks off of the price at the gate and skip the line when you get there.

If you're going to buy just a one-day ticket, then get it from AAA. Universal doesn't discount one-day tickets anymore, not even through their website. However, if you decide to go with two days, then DO buy them from the Universal website as all multi-day tickets purchased online are $10.00 off gate price.

On a side note, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is NOT a theme park; it's just a small section of Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park (check the park map out on the website if you want to see how small it really is). Three rides, a few shops and restaurants and great theming... That's it. It will not take you half a day, let alone two days, to see this new area. If you are going to spend all that money, then I sincerely hope you will choose to experience the rest of Islands of Adventure while you're there because it truly is an awesome park.

I would definitely look on Universal's website for deals. I'm not sure where you are from, but if you are a Florida resident, they offer even better deals. Regardless, they offer discount deals for multi-day or multi-park passes.
As far as Harry Potter World, it is only a small portion of the Islands of Adventure Theme Park. It is amazing. However, you would be missing out on a great experience, if you choose to focus only on that one small section of the theme park. There are only 3 rides and wonderful shops and restaurants, but this would only take up a small portion of your day.
