Thread: What are some tips on making friends with new people?

I'll be going into 8th grade in the fall. I am hoping there will be new girls/boys in my grade. What are some ways make friends with the new kids and present myself as someone they would want to get to know?

BE yourself. If ur witty, be u. If you're helpful, be you. If u smile easily, smile and say hello. Just don't seem to hard-up for friend, meanwhile, don't act like a snob and act all selfish. Just be urself

You can only find that answer in yourself. i know that sounds all corny and whatever but yes. But here one way you can, by introducing yourself to people. But make sure they get to know THE REAL you dont be something you are not! its not a good thing youll just get yourself into lots of problems.

Be yourself. Don't be mean to anyone. Talk to lots of people.

um, just be yourself. that's what i do and I meet a lot of great people that way.

Smile a lot. People are attracted to those with a cheerful disposition. Be friendly and nice. Don't wait for them to come to you. Go to them and ask them a question about the school, teacher, class. Explain to them that you are new and then after she/he introduces themself then ask them questions about them. Always works for me, and I've moved sooo many times because of my parent's jobs. But I've always made friends on my first day of school and I have loads of them.

Always be yourself, smile and ask how they are. Listening is always a good way to make friends as well, and this is probably just as important as talking to them, because by listening to them you can work out what they like and dont like and can ask questions about stuff that interests them. That always gets a conversation going.

Talk about your interests and ask about their interests and see if you have anything in common! I know its short but thats the best advice I could give you!

make sure you be completely yourself, because if you're not, you'll end up not keeping those friends!

you could offer to help the new kids, and talk to them if they're in your class.
