Thread: What are some really good homeade catfish recipes?

Here is a simple one. Go to your local grocery store (smaller chains seem to work best.) When you get there go and buy some beef liver. It's usually pretty cheap as it's an "undesirable" food if you know what I mean. Now what you do it take the container of liver and set it outside in the sun until it rots a little and you can smell it. I would wait until the weather is warmer unless it already is where you live. Catfish use their sense of smell more than anything else when they eat and the stinky liver is great.
When you go out fishing just take some old scissors you don't need anymore and cut up chunks to put on a circle hook. The beef liver lasts a lot longer than any other catfish bait I've used as it's pretty durable and tough. I can guarantee you 100% that you will catch catfish. It may be gross but after you fill your cooler full of catfish you won't even care. Good luck fishin' although you won't need much luck!

Ok u get some doug and make it round and then add some tomato sauce some cheese the what ever u whant for toppings hahahahahahahahahhahahaha jk jk ok get some chicken liver and and live in in the sun for 5 hours

I dont know of any home made catfish bait recipes but I'll tell you what I use: chicken liver and anchovies. I cut pieces of (non frozen) chicken liver, wrap it up in some spawn wrap and magic thread, then I'll leave it in the sun for a bit (secret scent boosting trick.. haha). And when I dont feel like messing with the liver, I used thawed out anchovies (previously frozen). Cut em up into pieces, throw it on a hook, and chuck it out there..
