What should a woman wear for her engagement pictures?

My sister is getting married, and she's having the engagement pictures done tomorrow. They live in the Smoky Mountains of NC and will be having their pictures taken along a hiking trail. For this reason she does not want to wear high heels.

These pictures will be sent to everyone in our family for the announcements. What should she wear?
It is cold enough there that they are exited when it's 40 degrees.

A lot of the pictures will probably be in black and white.

She can probably bring a few things...is it really cold there now?

Edit: then i think that she should wear skinny jeans with some really cute snow boots on the outside of the pants. And she better just bundle up!

I just watched the weather and a snow storm is about to plow through that area tomorrow, so unless she is planning to dress like Luke Skywalker on the planet Hoth, I don't see those photos happening.

But when you do plan on getting the photos done, she should probably where jeans or khakis, a nice button-up shirt (nothing with a print, busy design or words) and some cute flats. I wouldn't do tennis shoes because that's too informal. There are plenty of cute flat shoes that can withstand walking in the woods. Try a pair of Keds.

Since they're doing the photo shoot on a hiking trail, then she should probably wear something appropriate to that. A nice hiking outfit. Though I'll stress the word "nice". Nothing scruffy looking. As the woods aren't particularly colorful at this time of year, I'd say it's important that she wear something with good color so that she will "pop" in the color photos. Something white (a parka or sweater perhaps) would help her "pop" in the black & white photos. Actually, white might work well in both and would be a nice touch for a soon-to-be bride.

I'd do black or white (but solid color) sweater and dark jeans. Wear a flat or a rugged hiking boot. The photographer isn't going to be taking photos of their feet!

A nice sweater, jeans, and snow boots. Maybe one of those winter vest things as well.
