I don't think you need to know the bird...meaning, I think by looking at images of birds, one will remind you of your GGM and you will know and feel it.

Maybe it's an Eagle, a Cardinal, or Dove would be a simple choice, but I would search bird images and find something that calls to you. Maybe a bird of her fav. color might be a place to start...
