I mean I have heard of some like golden gloves, triple crowns, cy young.... What others exist and what are they for?
there are the M.V.P for both leagues, silver slugger, and the rest u listed
gold gloves- best fielder in each league for each position
silver sluggers- same as before but for hitting
rookie of the year- pretty self explanatory
cy young- best pitcher
triple crowns- rarely happens but its for any batter that leads the league in RBIs, HRs, and AVG
MVP- again i think this speaks for itself
also as we saw last night there is the ASG MVP. Mccan won that
and there is an MVP for the world series as well.
there are other awards too like the Roberto Clemente Award-its not for playing, but for what you do off the field.
The hank aaron award- it is for the best overall offensive performer in both the American League and National League
Manager of the year- pretty obvious what this means
and also throughout the year they have players of the week and players of the month.
those are the main ones
A few others --
The Edgar Martinez Award.
The MVPs for the ALCS, NLCS, and World Series (necessarily given at the end of the season). The WS MVP is technically known as the Babe Ruth Award.
MLB gives out Player/Pitcher of the Week/Month Awards all season long, so a few have to drop at the end of the season.
Bunch of others handed out by various media outlets, some with rather specific qualifications (the Luis Aparicio Award only goes to a Venezuelan national).
And, of course, the Commissioner's Trophy.
