I am flying from Chicago to London. I checked the website, but they have not mentioned a weight. Also, if I carry a laptop will it count along with the carry baggage or will be extra allowable weight? Thanks in advance for your kind responses.

As of June of 2006, British Airways has eliminated the weight limit on hand baggage in favor of the size restriction on the pieces, which allows one piece no larger than 22inx18inx10in (56x45x25cm), plus one laptop or briefcase when traveling to the UK. The "traveling to the UK" part is of special importance here, because the luggage allowance when transiting the UK or traveling from the UK only allows the one bag, and not the laptop or briefcase.
In other words -- if you want to take your laptop with you and actually get it home, you will need to find a bag that will carry it and all of your other carryon items within the size limit, because they won't allow it as a separate carryon for your return flight from London.
See webpages below. Looks like you are allowed only ONE carry-on...not a carry-on plus laptop. Can you fit the laptop into a bag that has room for other carry-on stuff too? Checked bag wt limit, it says, is 51 pounds. m
I see the other answerer says you can have a laptop plus another carry-on...so perhaps you need to call the airline to be sure.
