How are you supposed to wear foundation in the summer?

I have oily skin. I only wear foundation, mascara, and eyeliner. How are you supposed to wear foundation in the summer if you tan? Wouldn't your face just look lighter when the rest of your body gets darker? What are you supposed to do with the do? Another question- how long can you keep powder mineral foundation for until it gets old?

My mom has a summer foundation color for when her skin is darker and a winter foundation color for when her skin is lighter. Try that.

Sure. Use a foundation primer to help it from sliding off. Laura Mercier Oil Free primer is great. Use an oil free long wearing foundation. Make up Forever mat velvet for high end, revlon colorstay for drugstore are best for oily skin. Best advice- don't let you face tan! Use a bronzer. That way you can still wear the same foundation. If you do get a little sun use a foundation one shade darker than usual. Trust me, you'll look 50 when you're 35 if you don't wear sunscreen. There are a lot of face self tanning lotions out there that work great. Neutrogena makes a good one. Powder mineral foundation should be good for a year or a little more.

People normally have darker products for the summer. After you tan, buy a foundation that matches and use it until you fade again. You can buy one quite a bit darker than you and mix it with your current foundation so you can change the colour daily depending on how dark you are that day.

I do recommend you get some sort of setting powder, though. If you just use foundation and don't set it with a powder, it can literally melt off your face in the heat and when you sweat. Use a moisturizer, a sunscreen, a face primer (I like Laura Mercier's), THEN foundation, and then set it alllll with a powder. BareMinerals Mineral Veil is lightweight and natural, so it's good for the summer.

You're supposed to have more than one foundation.
One a darker shade for the summer when you tan. Hope this helps?...

Yeah you're face is naturally gonna be lighter because it wont get a tan on it like the rest of your body. This happened to me and now when I don't put foundation on I have a pale face lol. There's nothing you can really do other then just not wear the foundation. Use a darker foundation in the summer once you have a tan and go back to the lighter on in winter. And I have no idea about the mineral foundation sorry.
