How to send a letter from the Philippines?

If i were to go in the Philippines, and i want to send a letter to someone from other country, how can i send it? I want something that doesn't cost much. Should i go to the post office or what? How much does it cost? And, where can i buy stamps? Or is there any commercial carrier services you can recommend me.

    Through the post office.

Or if it's not fast for you, try a cosmic worm hole, it's literally handing the letter to the recipient yourself.

There are two ways.. you can send mail via post office or via private mail carriers.

The cheapest is the local post office. If you will only send a letter like a normal Christmas card prices are usually 40php and up depending on where you're going to send it.

Here's my experience. I occasionally send letters to my friends in South Korea and Japan. The prices range from 40 pesos to 150 depending on the weight. When I tried sending a small box of chocolate it cost me 100 pesos. When I tried sending an titanium parker pen with a medium sized postcard it cost me 150 pesos.

It usually takes 7-10 days for the letter to arrive in either country. So If you'll be sending the card to the US or other countries outside Asia expect it to arrive much much later. Usually snail mail letters from the US takes at least a month to arrive. As for the stamps, you can buy it at the post office. After they weigh your package or letter they'll tell you how much you need to pay, they'll give you the stamp and you have to stick the stamp yourself.

Now, if you want it to arrive as soon as possible. You can try UPS, or LBC. It costs more though, they usually charge per kilo and the prices depends on what country you'll send your package too.. If I remember correctly, international packages cost more than 1000 pesos per kilo..

Here is the LBC website --> http://www.lbcexpress.com/contents/PH/

If you want to go the cheap way, write your letter, put it inside an air mail envelope, take it to the nearest post office (no mail boxes here), and tell them you want to send it registered mail (otherwise you have only 60% chance of it getting there).
The other way, and expensive, is to write it and go to the nearest LBC office. Like DHL, they deliver in 4 days, but it will cost you over 1000 peso.

    Hope this helps.

You will have to go to a post office here as there are no pick up services. They will tell you how much & sell you stamps also. My last letter to the US cost 80 pesos $1.75 US a business letter with the long envelope 2 sheets of paper.

    Post office.

Costs vary depending on the weight of the mail. I don't know exactly how much but usually very cheap. (Email by the way, is even cheaper.)
