Thread: How old do you have to be in order to get a hotel/ or motel room?

I am planning of going on a road trip sometime soon, I'm 17 but a couple of my friends who are 18 will be going. Some people have been trying to tell me you need to be 21 to get a room though. That doesn't make sense to me seeing as though your an adult when your 18, but then again, a lot of laws preventing 18 year old "adults" from doing adult things don't make sense. Anyone know first hand?

Most places are 18 and older- but there are some places that are 21+- I know Vegas is one of those 21+ places(at least the hotels I have looked into)- but usually- since you have to be 18 to have a credit card on your own- most places welcome your money! Just put the room in one of their names and have fun!!!

I did plenty of road travel when I was 18-20 and never once had a problem renting a room.
