How do you go about booking a trip to London from Dallas, TX?

I would like to visit London with no relatives there or anyone that I know. However, I've never booked a whole trip before. I know that there are certain things you need to remember like plane, hotel, rental car(optional i guess), and thats all I can think of for now. What else would I need to know to book a normal trip for maybe a week or two there?

Get a budget in place. Decide what you can spend for your trip and what level of accommodations you can afford. The first thing is to book your airfare. You have to have your passport before you do this. Next decide what you want to do. For a two week trip to the UK, you should try to see at least some of the following: London (at least three or four days), Windsor (can be done as a day trip), Bath, St. Ives, Chester, the Lakes District, Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh, York, and then either Cambridge or Oxford. Time permitting you could also add a short trip to Ireland (fly from London) or to Paris (by Eurostar). By far the best way to get around is by train, so you should consider investigating as to what rail passes are available.

Virgin Vacations specializes in trips to London and they have some great deals. Check them out at
    http://www.virgin-vacations.com/most-popular/most-popular-london-vacation-packages.aspx

    also
http://www.virgin-vacations.com/Europe_Vacations/United_Kingdom_Vacations.aspx for some other vacation packages to the United Kingdom, including my favorite, the Liverpool Beatles Escape.

They include air, hotel, even breakfast with most of their packages, they have great service and they won't put you in a flea-infested hotel away from everything.

Go to a good travel agent. You don't need a car in London; public transport is excellent and there is no possibility of parking cheaply; additionally there is a £10 daily charge for road use

Well you need to plan and possibly book all the aspects that can come across. You Initially need to book a hotel then decide what places to look out for. Then how can you explore all the places without spending much and by mostly using public transport. Then what delicacies you are going to try there. But all you need to do is book well before time to get best prices. As your date to travel approaches you will find hike of price in everything yo0u are going to book.
