How do I keep from getting bulky muscles while running cross country?

I'm running cross country for my college this year. I'm a tiny girl, but I gain muscle very quickly. How can I keep my muscles from looking so bulky?

There is no way to stop that unless you stop running or you keep running but eat junky foods. Be proud of your muscles! They show how much hard work you've put in to running! In fact, bulky muscles are a sign that you are eating well and keeping yourself healthy and happy! If you don't eat well your muscles will become skinny and weak and you won't have the strength to run as well if you are on healthy foods!

You won't gain bulky muscle from running, trust me.

Show me a long distance runner who is bulky and muscled and I'll give you 100 bucks. Marathoners, long distance runners, and even XC runners are all thin, light-weight, and have very little heavy muscle.

You'll be fine. Keep running and you won't gain much muscle.

you get bulky muscles from sprints, not long distance. if cross country is making your legs bulky, then you're doing something wrong...
