How to convince my parents to get a fish?

I already have a guinea pig and a cat. I want a fish too. I would pay. Also ways to make money.

Well if you have been taking care of your other two animals, just tell them that by doing that you should've proven that you can take care of a fish. Also, research into owning a fish a bit. How often you need to change water in bowl, how to do so, what they eat, how often etc. This may impress your parents and show them you are dedicated. Explain how easy they are to take care of and how you will pay for it.

Ways to make money? Depends how old you are. The obvious answer is well, get a job.
But if you are too young or don't want to, you can ask your parents if they'll pay you to do jobs around the house. You can shovel neighbours yards (snow) if the season permits, or rake lawns for money. You can take dogs for walks for other people, or do house cleaning/help people move. Good luck.

I'd first look at the responsibility you show to your current pets. Do you feed, cleanup, and groom them? Do you have room for a fish tank? If you can prove these things to your parents, they may be agreeable to a fish.

Do your research first. When you go to the library, get books. At home, read or research on the computer. Even go ask friends who own or have previously owned a fish about how to care for it (if the opportunity comes along, take care of it for them while they're on vacation.). Research the fish in question in great detail before you even approach your parents, so you know all of the facts. If you find out something about the fish that you don't like, e.g. eats live food, lives for 30 years, needs lots of space, then don't hesitate to check out other similar animals to find the perfect fish for you.

When you know what you want and have all of the facts, approach your parents. In a calm, diplomatic way tell them about the fish, and tell them some important facts about it. When you are done, they will most likely ask you some questions. Answer them honestly, being sure to suggest solutions to any problems they see. If they say yes, then yippee!

Tell them I take very good care of my existing pets and I'd like another pet. I'm willing to pay for it. I also stay out of trouble others kinds my age cant even take care of doing their homework. So I believe I deserve a fish. Good luck

You look after the guinea pig and cat right? You can say "I look after those guys, and fish are way easier to look after! They also don't need vet insurance" or whatever. Prove to them you are responsible to look after fish, and even try a bit of trickery. Say "Oh I want a betta that doesn't need a filter or heater [LIES LIES LIES, but you can make them get you the other stuff they need at the store when you're there] so it's real low maintenance." That's how I convinced my mum lol.

Ways to make money through fish..? Virtually none unless you're a serious and reputable fish breeder, or if you get really lucky through selling the fish you breed. Fish breeding is pretty costly if they aren't livebearers or easy fish to breed.
Other normal ways to make money? Get a weekend job, or do the morning paper rounds or something. Or simply save up from allowance.

There are lots of ways to make money. Making money online is my favorite and that's what I'll always do unless somebody's willing to pay me $20 an hour which isn't going to happen since I'm under 13 years old. If you are that young ( since I don't think 16 year olds+ are going to like fishes) you should try.. rapidGPT. It pays money straight to your paypal account. Just go to http://rapidgpt.com/members/register.php?ref=Spacestar

When I was young I just said to my dad "I wondered about getting a pet maby? I was thinking of a fish if that would be ok? Or would it be best to get something else?"
