How to convince my Grandmother who is slightly allergic to cats to allow me to adopt a kitten?

She only gets sniffly if the cat rub on her but nothing a Claratin or a benadryl can't fix. There is an adorable kitten at our humane society and I want to adopt him.
Well she is allergic to dogs as well and we have two of them so why should this be any different?

Why should your grandmother suffer because YOU want a kitten? And taking allergy medicine long term has side effects.

If you're that uncaring about your own grandma, who you've known all your life, then you're too selfish to be a good pet owner.

    Just have an honest conversation.

Ask if she would be willing to take allergy medication. Tell her you will pay for Everything, and bathe it every week (this will lessen the reaction she has)

She may be ok with it, she may not. You just have to ask.

Some cats are hypoallergenic (devon rex, cornish rex, sphynx, balinese, javanese, oriental shorthair, siberian) Those breeds are usually expensive though unless you're lucky enough to find one at a shelter. Also male cats, particularly non-neutered males, tend to produce more allergens than females. And darker colored cats also produce more allergens.

No such thing as hypoallergenic cats.

You want a kitten although your grandmother doesn't want one, that's being selfish. Wait until you move out then you can get a kitten.
