Thread: How can you tell if a jello mold has been spiked with vodka?

My wife's grandmother has done this in the past and she will be bringing a jello mold to Easter dinner. I want to make sure she isn't up to her old tricks before serving to other guests. Someone told me that vodka is undetectable when it is in jello.

You could inform the other guests that there might be vodka in it. However, I do not know why somebody would want to ruin vodka by putting it in Jell-o.

That's some Granny you have there. I don't think you can make a mold using alcohol. It won't set properly. Jello shots aren't like little bowls of jello.

LOL, I'm sorry, that's just so funny! I don't think there's a way to tell, but just ask her and pretend to give it to a child. That will make her grab it away if she's put vodka in it. LOL again!

I've seen that done before and it is hard to tell until you feel the effects. I'd serve it in small portions as a dessert and let everyone know that it is grandma's "cherry jello surprise" with vodka. And avoid giving it to the kiddies!

Well just go with the fact that it's spiked.

As a former housemother for a group of college frat boys, I can tell you that it is hard to taste it (if not impossible) in certain flavors of jello. I know this because the boys pulled a prank on me and I fell for it. I'd ask granny what the ingredients and then make a decision to serve it to the adults.
