Okay, here's the deal: I am in a college dorm and hot plates/burners are considered Illegal. However, coffee makers are okay. Are there any creative recipes out there which can be made with one?
Thanks.
On "Good Eats" the other day, Alton made hard-boiled eggs in one of those pots that instantly heats up water. He put the eggs in; let the water boil... then left them in there for 15 min afterwards. I haven't tried it, but it was interesting![]()
You could pour the hot water over a cup of ramen noodles, instant soups etc.
I'm sure as a college student, the last thing you're looking for is another way to make Ramen...but I used to have one of those little 4-cup coffee makers when I lived in a dorm and I loved making my Ramen in it. It tasted better than when it's made in the microwave, and was much more convenient.
You should ask if you could purchase an Gt Express 101 its very compact and cooks just about everything.
The cost is approx. 19.95 and it works great, recipes come with the maker so the ideas are almost endless.
They have two different sizes so it depends on how much you like to cook at one time.
Deluxe GT Xpress 101 $60
they only recipes for a coffee maker would be something pourable like ramen noodles.
hope this helped. good luck and enjoy.
