Thread: Can an individual legally resell leftover freon from a home air conditioner recharge?

A widow friend's deceased husband purchased a 25# canister of freon to recharge their home air conditioner and used 3 or 4 pounds. She has no use for the remaining freon and the stuff has become increasingly expensive so she's reluctant to throw it away.

She can sell it to a licensed hvac contractor I think any of them would be willing to buy it.
