    How does a pneumatic grinder and component work together.?

    I have a class project, and I need to know how a pneumatic grinder works. I would like to know what psi needed to operate a 5'' to 7'' pneumatic grinder and some specification and maybe a video of the component in action in the grinder. I keep on finding information that doesn't fit my search exactly on the Net. Is there anyone out there, that can send me in the right direction? Thanks

    In all the places I've worked, for pneumatic tools, the safe operating pressure of the air supply is in the region of 6.5 - 7.5 bar.

    The grinder consists of an air-powered motor, through which the air supply flows. As the air supply loses energy, it powers the motor. The air is vented to atmosphere at a lower pressure and larger volume.

    The revolving air motor is connected through gearing, to a spindle. Depending on what type/size/spec, you would fit the 5" or 7" grinding wheel to the spindle.

    Usually, the rotation of the wheel is 90 deg to the direction of the air supply, but this changes with the different types of grinders. EG pencil grinders.

    This could be very hard for you (As If !).anyway it is good to know that some of the les acidemic students are using this exilent des-res to swat up on the more obvious answers to these simple but sometimes long windered questions.
