they will not do it and they say because it holds back the performance or somthing and they dont need it but the truth is that it costs them way to much and they dont want to waste money so they took out that option...
lame sony

lame sony
Some people have alot of classics they would like to try out ya know?
None.
PS2 hardware is not cheap to add into the PS3 and the technology used by both formats are completely different; its not something that can just be easily meshed together into the console. I won't bother saying all the problems with trying to emulate PS2 software. We already saw what happens when you add PS2 playback to the PS3: $500-$600 pricetags that very few were willing to pay.
Sony doesn't care how many classics you have. Adding PS2 playback to the console has proven to simply not be cost-effective in any way for Sony and maximizing profits is what they care about the most.
0- none, they stopped making it because they want you to buy PS3 games instead of PS2, the only reason they kept the ability to play PSOne games is because there are not many good games on PS1 and not many people have PS1 discs anymore
none what soever. sony said they will never make another b.c. ps3 again. so lucky me for buying the last 80gb b.c. PS3 from my local gamestop 2 years ago
