Thread: How do you connect your computer to the tv?

I live with my parents in a different state than my sisters. We talk to each other frequently using Skype and my dad was wanting to connect the computer up to the tv for a bigger picture. We have a laptop - Toshiba Satellite (i can't remember exactly which one). Is there equipment that we need to buy or can you do it with just cables? Also, is there any software that needs to be used?

Get a HDMI wire.

Well if your tv has a VGA input and your computer also then you just need a VGA cable if it doesn't then your tv might also have a S-Video input if your pc has an S-Video input then you can use the cable for that i use a VGA cable and my laptop screen is on my tv so check it out and see what will work.
You will not need any software

I bought a video converter VGA to AV.
Cost me about 45 dollars and it is real simple to use.
