Thread: How do you avoid getting killed in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?

I've recently underwent a bet to get the first nuke (25 Kill Streak) between my friend and I. I want to know how do you get large killstreaks without getting killed. Any tips whether simple or more strategical would be helpful.

Camp.
Plain and simple.
IF you have your kill streaks set up properly, a nuke is pretty easy to get.

have all this:
Weapon: any sniper with heartbeat and silencer or FMJ and heartbeat. (secondary:use the fully automatic shotgun for close assault)

Perks: 1:bling pro, 2:stopping power pro or cold blooded, 3:ninja or scrambler, death streak: final stand.

Equipment: claymore (set it up somewhere at the entrance of where u are) and smoke grenade

Killstreak: sentry gun (use it for cover behind u), pave low (protection from above), and then nuke

just camp or play defensively don't go running up to the enemy because 9 outta 10 times ur gonna die use claymores scavenger cold blooded and ninja and a silencer and once you get a 7 kill streak the harrier will get you the chopper gunner which should get you the nuke good luck!

Ok this is what i recommend for the nuke, first pick out a sniper that you like and get thermal and FMJ (i personally like the Barrett .50cal), for your secondary i recommend a Javelin (in case your enemy calls in an airstrike). For your perks put bling, cold blooded pro(if you don't have pro it still works), and steady aim pro. For your equipment you need claymore to protect your camping spot. Ok now for killstreaks you need harrier strike, chopper gunner, and nuke, if your enemy shoots down your airstrikes then you wont be able to do it, so change to a different lobby once the game ends. Ok now you need a good map or it won't work out very easily, maps that are open work the best like highrise or afgan. Now you need to find a good place to camp where you can snipe people easily. Once you get to 7 kills set off your harrier strike, now look for a good hiding spot where people won't find you when your using your chopper gunner, your harrier should get you to 11 kills if used correctly, now use your chopper gunner and you can easily get to 25 kills from it(don't get mad if you can't get it the first couple times, it takes a while to get good at it), when you get to 25 kills you can have fun setting off your nuke and win your bet. And don't play in team deathmatch, because someone will win before you get your nuke, play on like sabotage or demolition.

Harrier
Choppergunner
Nuke

If you can get a harrier on a map like Waistland without it getting shot down right away you can get a choppergunner easy. I've got a 38 killstreak doing this and then nuked. ALWAYS use hardline. The rest is up to your skill, do what you do best to get that Harrier.

I have this class set up exclusively for killstreaks:
Bling Pro
Hardline
Ninja Pro

Scar-H - heartbeat, silencer
Spas-12 - foregrip, silencer

K/S - either Harrier, Chopper Gunner, Nuke
OR
Chopper gunner, EMP, Nuke

People ask me why I use the latter setup at all, it's because once you get the emp when it disables the enemies hud it makes it easier to get kills and harder for them to hit you through a scope.

If you do use my setup, do not spray and pray, tap the fire button and only fire one shot at a time. Saves you some ammo.

Camp. Camp, camp, camper you camper. That is honestly the only way to get it. However, how you camp decides whether you get the nuke or not.

First, your class. You need a good, long distance class that can also survive a close assualt.
M16 w/ Holographic Sight (Great distance; one shot burst to kill. Can also be used in close combat.)
Stinger (Take down those heli's)
Claymore (For your camping)
Stun x2 (Best special grenade)
Scavenger (Pro) (It is essential you have this because you need all the ammo you can get. Plus, it refills your claymore supply)
Stopping Power (Pro) (Always, always, and always)
Ninja (Pro) (The pro is great because it is very easy to hear people come up behind you. With ninja pro claymores are not always a necessity.)
Last Stand (The only real deathstreak)

There is a certain technique to camping. There is a pure camper (hide around a corner and wait for people to run past you), a sniper camper (find a spot, then plop down and snipe your heart out), and a pro-camper (find a building with good windows to shoot out of. Put your claymore in the entrances. Move from window to window and kill everyone you see. If someone gets past your claymore, take them out.). The last type of camping is by far the best. You can get kills fast, but stay alive. Just make sure you have all routes covered.

There is really only one possibility for killstreaks. Harrier, Chopper Gunner, and Nuke. Theoretically, if you get 7, you get 25. In thought, at least. Trust me, this doesn't always work. At least 50 percent of the time it will not. Have patience, and a nuke will find its way to you. Trust me. I'm the best.
