How can I connect a PS2 to a home theater receiver?

Don't say something like "ps2 optical to receiver component".
That don't tell me anything. Exactly what do I need and where do I need to plug it into?

you would take a pair of shoes and wear them around.
then you yell at your mom.
then you hit yourself and then cry like a baby!

What are you trying to achieve? If you want 5.1 surround (actually, the PS2 doesn't utilize the center speaker so it's only 4.1), you'll need a fiber optic cable. That cable will run from the back of your PS2 (there's only one spot where it will fit) to the back of your receiver. Again, it should be clear where it goes; it will likely be under DVD or SAT. Does your receiver support Dolby Digital?

you need what you said you need

this mean there is a cable called a optical cable, you can get it from any radio shack or Amazon.com place

then you put it in the PS2 and then you put it in your rec. it only fits in one place

you do not need to buy the PS cable, any optical cable will do

go to Amazon.com and type in optical cable

and if you rec. does not have in put for optical reg RCA types will work too, but it will not be digtial
