So my 360 got the ring of death and its going to cost me $119 to fix, id rather use this money to get one of the new 360's. So i planning on trading in my broken 360 and use it to buy a new one. Could I get in trouble for doing this?

I'm sure they will check to see if it works. Then you will just look stupid.
Well they will ask you if it works so you will be lying if you say no. Also I'm quite sure they are not stupid and they will test the unit, so don't bother. You can put it on eBay listed as broken and someone will buy it that knows how to fix it.
lol you shouldn't get in trouble as long as u do not lie... but stretching the truth is a different thing... and they might want to check to see if it works right or not it just depends on how bad the person working is... just don't lie
lol they check to see if it works first dummy. if you can fix it so it can boot up and last maybe like an hour without red ringing then you could get away with it. but if it red rings right away gamestop will not take it. and you might not want to come back to that gamestop again if u get away, cause they will probably notice you and force you to pay them back.
they don't just buy it without testing it. If it can turn on and read a disc to play a game for 5 minutes, then they'll buy it. If it breaks after they buy it, it's their loss.
Maybe. they will check to see if it works so cross u r fingers and hope no red ring when they turn it on. if it does it, then you will not be able to do so. trust me. ive tried to do so with my older 360.
they will catch you. You can just get a RROD repair kit from gamestop i think.
Hope that helped you out.
Do you think they're just going to take the xbox?
They will do a full inspection.
Yeah, they check first, besides the RROD is free to repair with Microsoft (If within the 3 years warranty), if not, then get a used one for like a $100 and transfer the hard drive.
Note: If they trade it, probably you'll just get like $20, Gamestop is famous for ripping off people when trading.
Did you seriously think they'd just give you $ in trade without checking it out first? Is this a serious question?
