Is it better to let a cell phone totally discharge and go completely dead before recharging it?

I've heard both. I just got a new phone with a damn expensive extended battery (which I charged for the full 24 hours it said), and I don't want to screw it up by charging it when I'm not supposed to or by not charging it when I AM supposed to.

Thanks for any help! I'll pick a best answer TODAY!

It does help to let you battery die rather than charging it when it's like half full or something. But the difference truely is minimal you wouldn't notice much.

    Hi James,

Lithium-ion batteries are not susceptible to the "memory effect". You can charge them at any time with no ill effect to charge life or battery life.

Cell Power has a real informative article on cell phone batteries and care. I think you would fine it informative.
